"Is it me, or is Christmas getting earlier every year?" Dr Leon Hunt introducing The League of Gentlemen Christmas Special. Talking Carry on Screaming and Theatre of Blood. All hail, The League of Gentlemen.

The opening film, A Field in England, was introduced by Dr Johnny Walker from The University of Northumbria. Dr Walker discussed all aspects of British horror cinema, from Lesbian Vampire Killers to Witchfinder General.

A lively post screening panel took place, again, including Dr Walker and also Dr Michael Grant, The University of Kent. Was the film really filmed in a field? Or was it an enclosure? Is A Field in England a horror film, or is it a folk film?

The panel was expertley led by James Newton.
